Rick's approach to life is one of service, compassion & hope. Rick brings an air of integrity, authenticity, commitment and loving intention/attention to all he does. Along with being a children's book author (The Hug Store), Rick is a musician, wine consultant and community service leader. Health and wellness are a cornerstone. Rick also enjoyed 15 years after college (Michigan State University) as an executive in the music industry and helped launch the careers of Dave Matthews Band, White Stripes, Nirvana, Foo Fighters, and many more. Rick is also the founder of Hug The Moment, an educational 501c3 that develops and implements SEL (social emotional learning) curriculum in schools. Rick is co-producer of the annual National Hugging Day event that has been supported by Huggies, Guinesses Book of World Records and more. Rick has supported/volunteered with the following charities over the years; T1D, American Cancer Society, Cystic Fibrosis, Muscular Dystrophy, and Macular Degeneration. Of all Rick does, nothing is more important to him than his daughter (and Hug Store co-author) Shana!
